Mmm, thank you. I feel like this post was written for me. I remember last year, when I started my Substack and wrote a bunch of posts about my gender identity, actual strangers responded to me over email saying they related hard. Now I’ve changed my focus a little and am writing more about mental illness, and still waiting to reach those with whom it resonates. Thank you for the reminder of how special the connections can be on here.
Keep going. Write from the heart. This is the perfect platform for it and keep in mind that not everyone who needs to read your messages are even here yet.
This brought tears to my eyes. Adrian is a dear friend more like soul brother to me. As a solo world traveler myself, we share a deep love for traveling the world for local, authentic experiences.
I started my Substack a couple of months ago. Currently sharing a series about lessons I learned in my 30s. I have 40 subscribers so far which warms my heart. And I have yet to be in the engagement of this platform. Your words are super inspiring and provide a map for how to interact and show up. I look forward to following along.
Yesss! I love Adrian and I am so miffed that I got lost in the tangle of new-Substacker-confusion when I found you because I love your writing and all of this is so true. And I've so glad you're finding your people! This brings me a lot of joy 💞
Thank you. I love this post. Also, thanks for the urging, the truth, the nudge of writing authentically, and how authenticity is magnetic, drawing the right people and repelling the wrong ones. I know this, but needed to hear it again for the 100th time.
Not only is this a brilliant strategic playbook for anyone newish to Substack, but it also highlights exactly what it is that sets this platform apart from the others: connection.
Real, raw human connection.
Something we all could use a bit more of.
By the way, the guy in this piece… he looks eerily familiar but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
You’re a gifted writer, my friend. I feel honored to have you so eloquently share about our quick bond and connection.
“This exchange became a template for connection. We were simply human beings acknowledging the weight we each carry, using art as our translator.” 🥹🙏🙌 I’m so touched, thank you for holding connections and sharing with us.
Lovely post…it’s been good to connect with you on here…but I’ll take up your offer and drop my Substack here incase anyone else wants to read my writing on finding hope and purpose after losing a child. Thanks!
This is the sweetest story! 💜
Isn’t it??😊

As an introvert — I could use these tips and more… Maybe you can be my muse or consultant. I definitely don't feel I'm rocking the Substack world.
Just follow my tips. It’s what I do🤷♀️
Ok. That's a good strategy. Something I might be able to work with.
